The Two-Law Category

Ingestible Beauty Insurance for Nutricosmetics, Beauty Gummies, and Collagen Drinks

Where supplement law meets cosmetic law. Where FDA cGMP meets MoCRA. Where most insurance brokers throw up their hands. We write the policy that covers both.

Section 01 · The Category Reality

Ingestible Beauty Sits in a Regulatory Crossfire Most Brokers Don't Understand

Beauty supplements, ingestible collagen, hair-skin-nail gummies, glow-from-within powders. The FDA regulates them as supplements. Their marketing makes cosmetic claims. Their customers expect both worlds to deliver.

That's exactly where exposure happens.

If your product makes a structure-or-function claim ("supports healthy hair") it's a supplement. If your marketing pushes harder ("erases wrinkles from the inside") your label is a drug. If your packaging looks like beauty, your product is a supplement, but your customer's expectations are cosmetic. And if any of those expectations get disappointed, the lawsuit doesn't care about the classification.

Ingestible beauty is the fastest-growing slice of beauty AND the fastest-growing slice of supplements. Most brokers are trying to fit it into one box or the other. We write the policy that covers both.

Section 02 · The Coverage Gap

Why a Pure Beauty Policy or Pure Supplement Policy Quietly Leaves You Exposed

Single-category policies have language that fails the second your product crosses category lines.

Pure beauty policies miss

  • Ingestible product exclusions buried in the policy form
  • FDA supplement compliance language and DSHEA-regulated exposures
  • Adverse event coverage for ingredients consumed internally
  • cGMP-aligned manufacturing claim protection

Pure supplement policies miss

  • Cosmetic claim coverage when packaging looks like skincare
  • MoCRA-aligned coverage for marketing that crosses into beauty territory
  • Sensitization and skin-related claim language for products with topical adjacency
  • Beauty-channel additional insureds (Sephora Squad, Ulta Marketplace)
Section 03 · Who We Protect

Built for Founders Building the Two-World Brand

Ingestible beauty looks different at every scale.

Hair-skin-nail gummies

The category that built ingestible beauty. Biotin, collagen, biotin-collagen-marine-everything. We know which carriers will write you.

Collagen drinks & powders

Marine collagen, bovine collagen, peptide-specific marketing. Different ingredient profiles, different claim exposures.

Glow-from-within drinks

Skin-targeted antioxidant blends, beauty teas, drinkable serums. The supplement-meets-skincare lane that's hardest to underwrite.

Cross-category brands

You sell topical AND ingestible under the same brand. Coverage stacks need to follow your full product line.

Section 04 · Common Questions

Ingestible Beauty Insurance, Plain English

Is my product a supplement or a cosmetic?
Almost always a supplement under FDA rules, even when packaged like beauty. Anything ingested is a supplement, drug, or food. Your marketing language can push it toward drug classification, which carries higher liability and stricter labeling. We help you confirm classification before underwriting starts.
Why can't I just use a regular supplement policy?
You can, until your customer makes a beauty-related complaint that doesn't fit supplement liability language. The policy form needs to handle both worlds. We write that.
Does Amazon's January 2026 cGMP rule apply to my ingestible beauty?
Yes if it's a dietary supplement (which most ingestible beauty is). The rule applies to every supplement listing on Amazon. Same 90-day clock, same TIC verification, same listing suppression risk if you don't comply.
What about adverse event reporting?
Supplements fall under DSHEA's serious adverse event reporting rules. Beauty products fall under MoCRA's adverse event reporting rules. Ingestible beauty often falls under both. We help you build the documentation infrastructure your insurance underwriting expects.
What does this cost?
Higher than pure beauty, sometimes lower than pure supplement, depending on your ingredient mix and channel mix. Send us your application and we'll quote it across our markets.
